What the generator does with what you type
Nothing leaves your device. Your business details, your customer's details, the lines, amounts, bank details and logo are processed by code running in your browser; the PDF is built there too. None of it is sent to a server, so the publisher never sees it.
For your convenience, your own business details (name, address, email, tax number, logo, payment details, notes, country and last invoice number) are kept in your browser's local storage on this device, for the next invoice. Customer details and invoice lines are not kept. The "Forget my details" link deletes what is stored, as does clearing this site's data in your browser. On a shared computer, use that link when you finish.
What the host records
Like any web host, GitHub Pages records technical data for each request (IP address, date, page, browser). The publisher does not receive or use these logs for profiling. They are kept according to GitHub's own policy, which may involve processing in the United States.
Audience measurement with Google Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful: pages viewed, referring page, visit length, device and browser type, approximate country and city. To do so Google Analytics sets two cookies on your device: _ga, which tells visitors apart with a random identifier, and _ga_YZDS1FP249, which keeps the state of the visit. Their lifetime is set to 13 months at most (390 days) and is not extended on each visit; Google’s default is 2 years.
The IP address is anonymised: Google Analytics 4 neither logs nor stores it. The page address sent to Google Analytics is stripped of its parameters, and nothing typed in the generator is sent. Ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation and Google signals are switched off. Purpose: audience measurement. Legal basis: the publisher’s legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; no personal information is sold or shared within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA). Processor: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (Article 28 GDPR); data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Retention at Google: 14 months. To object: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on; the generator works the same way.
Anonymous stability monitoring, cookie-free
To keep the site working, it can use Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, Dublin, in cookie-free mode: errors, loading times and dead clicks are measured for each page view, Clarity itself setting no cookie and linking no visits; everything typed in the generator and the invoice preview are masked. Microsoft receives the technical data of the request, including the IP address from which an approximate location is derived, keeps recordings for 30 days and aggregated data for up to 13 months, and may process it in the United States. Under the GDPR the basis is legitimate interest in a working site (Article 6(1)(f)). You can object by blocking clarity.ms or writing to us. Cookie details are on the cookies page.
Messages you send
If you email us, your address and message are used only to reply and are kept for three years after the last exchange.
Your rights
Because the publisher is established in France, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies; the UK GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, the Australian Privacy Principles and US state privacy laws give you comparable rights. You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or erased: write to contact@taxinvoicemaker.com. You may also complain to your own data protection authority or to the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL).
